Some interesting games in the 6:15 PM slot on this night. Over on Court 1, two MIAC rivals were going at it as the Royal Ballers team was taking on a roster-heavy Midway Monsters team that would be split up this night to help fill in for teams that couldn't make it over on this night. The Royal Ballers team would get out to a 4-0 lead by the 7:00 mark of the opening period but the Midway Monsters team would eventually claw back and get this contest leveled at eight a piece with 1:45 left and a late score by the Midway Monsters team had them up 10-8 by the end of the first period. The Midway Monsters team would get their lead to 16-11 by the 7:05 mark of the second period and with 2:20 left that lead would increase to six at 25-19. A 5-0 by the Midway Monsters team down the stretch seemed to have them in excellent shape up 30-19 by the halftime break. Things still appeared to be going very much in the Midway Monsters team's favor as they would hold a 30-21 lead by the 7:10 mark of the third period and they would still be up 34-27 with 3:45 left. But it was here where the Royal Ballers team launched a key 6-2 push down the stretch that cut the Midway Monsters team's lead down to a single possession at 36-33 by the end of the third period. The Midway Monsters team's lead was shrunk to just one point at 36-35 by the 8:45 mark of the fourth period and then the Royal Ballers seized control of this game for good as they held their opponent to just two points in the fourth period to secure a big come-from-behind victory......Two other MIAC rivals were going at it over on Court 2 in this time slot as the GAC Gold team was taking on the Auggies team and it wouldn't take long for the GAC Gold team to seize control of this one as they would own a 4-0 lead by the 8:40 mark of the opening period and they would get their lead to 6-0 by the 6:00 mark. With 1:45 left the GAC Gold team upped its lead to 11-1 and by the end of the first period, the Auggies team found themselves in a serious hold down 15-1. The Auggies team finally found some semblance of offense once the second period got underway but the math wasn't exactly mathin' for them as the GAC Gold team was still up handily by a 21-6 count by the 7:20 mark and the GAC Gold team still enjoyed a 21-9 lead near the midway point. Another push by the GAC Gold team had them up 28-11 with 2:20 left and by the halftime break the GAC Gold team had a cushy 33-14 lead at its disposal. A quick 6-0 push by the GAC Gold team to start the third period stretched the lead to 39-14 and the Auggies team again would continue to struggle offensively as the GAC Gold team had a thirty-point cushion up 46-16 with 3:55 left. By the end of the third period, the GAC Gold team was running away with this one up 52-18. The GAC Gold team would rolling along up 54-21 by the 7:30 mark of the fourth period as they romped to an easy win......Over on Court 3, the other half of the Midway Monsters team was taking on the UW-Stout team in a much tighter affair as scoring would come at a premium early on with this one leveled at two a piece near the midway juncture of the opening period. The Midway Monsters team would eventually poke its nose out in front by a 7-6 count with 2:40 left and would own a slim 13-11 advantage by the end of the first period. The Midway Monsters team would still be hanging onto a two-point lead up 15-13 by the 8:20 mark of the second period but the UW-Stout team would get this game back on even terms again at 20 a piece near the midway point. Then the UW-Stout team would finish off this second period with a key 13-5 push that had them up 33-25 by the halftime break. The Midway Monsters team would get things tightened up a bit by the 6:45 mark of the third period as the UW-Stout team's lead was cut to five at 38-33 but this latest bid by the Midway Monsters team to tighten things up further faltered as the UW-Stout team increased its lead to 40-33 with 3:20 left. By the end of the third period, the UW-Stout team had a ten-point cushion up 43-33. Undeterred, the Midway Monsters team would make another bid to draw closer as the UW-Stout team's lead would be cut down to six at 45-39 near the midway juncture of the fourth period and there still seemed to be some hope with 3:20 left with the Midway Monsters team trailing by just five at 47-42 but they could never get any closer than that as the UW-Stout team held on for the win......Another close battle was ensuing over on Court 4 between the Team Jody team and the Da Birthdays team. The Da Birthdays team would be holding onto an 8-7 lead by the 7:00 mark of the opening period and seemed to have a bit more breathing room up 11-7 near the midway point. But the Team Jody team would turn the tables down the stretch and hold a one-point lead of their own up 14-13 by the end of the first period. The Da Birthdays team would manage to snare the lead away up 17-16 by the 7:00 mark of the second period and would hold a 21-18 advantage near the midway point. But, just like before, the Team Jody team would come back down the stretch and snare the lead away again as they would find themselves up 25-24 by the halftime break. Determined to not let that happen again, the Da Birthdays team came out with a firm resolve in the third period as they would forge ahead 32-26 by the 6:20 mark of the third period and they would manage to up the lead to eight at 35-27 with 3:00 left. By the end of the third period, things still looked very good for the Da Birthdays team up 40-34. Another push by the Da Birthdays team had them up by nine at 45-36 by the 6:00 mark of the fourth period and things still looked safe for them up 45-38 near the midway point. But the Team Jody team would make one last run down the stretch in regulation and get back to within a single possession down 45-43 with just 1:45 left. The Team Jody team had a number of opportunities towards the end but was unable to find that one big bucket as the Da Birthdays team held on for the narrow victory.
There was at least one very interesting game in the 7:15 PM slot on this night and that took place over on Court 1 as the UW-Stout team took on the Northwestern team. This one would be leveled at two a piece by the 7:45 mark of the opening period and the UW-Stout team would be able to nudge ahead 6-4 near the midway point. But then the UW-Stout team would get on a big 17-5 push and hold a sizable 23-9 lead by the end of the first period. The Stout team would at least maintain this fourteen-point cushion up 25-11 by the 6:40 mark of the second period but then the Northwestern team managed to get on a push of their own that cut the UW-Stout lead down to seven at 28-21 with 1:55 left. By the halftime break, the Northwestern team was still hovering within single-digit range down 34-25. A quick 4-0 push by the UW-Stout team to start the third period re-established the double-digit advantage at 38-25 by 7:35 mark but this pesky Northwestern team was managing to hang around and by the end of the third period, they were back withing single-digit range again down 49-41. But the UW-Stout team would draw the line in the sand once the fourth period was underway as they would hold a 52-43 lead by the 8:25 mark and have a ten-point cushion at 64-54 as they were able to get out of Dodge with the win on this night......Over on Court 2 the GAC Black team was taking on the Anoka-Ramsey team and it didn't take long for the GAC Black team to get into a groove as they would hold a 9-2 lead with 3:00 left in the first period and would get their lead to 21-6 by the end of the first period. The Anoka-Ramsey team found a bit more offensive production once the second period was underway but they were unable to keep pace with their opponent as the GAC Black team would own a 23-9 lead by the 8:25 mark and with 4:30 left the GAC Black team had doubled-up their opponent by a 28-14 count. By the halftime break the GAC Black team was able to maintain this fourteen-point lead up 42-28. The GAC Black team would get its lead to 46-30 by the 8:20 mark of the third period and near the midway point that lead had grown to twenty-three at 58-35. By the end of the third period the GAC Black team would be up comfortably at 67-46. The Anoka-Ramsey team did manage to shave off some of the deficit but with the GAC Black team up 72-55 near the midway point of the fourth period, there was little doubt as to how this one was going to end up as the GAC Black team sailed to an easy win......It was a somewhat similar story over on Court 3 as the Free Agents team was taking on the Sara's Shooters team. The Sara's Shooters team would get out to a 4-0 lead by the 8:15 mark of the opening period although the Free Agents team would be down by only a single possession at 10-7 near the midway point. By the end of the first period, the Sara's Shooters team would be trying to hang onto a 14-12 advantage. The Sara's Shooters team would then start opening some more space and hold an 18-12 lead by the 6:40 mark of the second period and would be able to build its lead to eight at 23-15 with 2:00 left. By the halftime break, the Sara's Shooters team would hold a double-digit advantage up 29-15. The Free Agents team would continue to struggle on the offensive end as the Sara's Shooters team would get its lead to 38-21 near the midway juncture of the third period and by the end of the third period, the Sara's Shooters team had a twenty-point cushion up 43-23. Not much would change once the fourth period was underway as the Sara's Shooters team would hold a 44-25 lead by the 6:20 mark and would hold a comfortable 50-27 lead with 3:00 left in regulation as the cruised to an easy win......And it was a somewhat similar story down on Court 4 where the Backcourt Baddies team was taking on the Cross Era team - with a bit of a twist. The Backcourt Baddies team would hold a 2-0 lead by the 7:20 mark of the opening period but the Cross Era team would gradually start to assume control and by the end of the first period, the Cross Era team held a 15-8 advantage. The Cross Era team would maintain this seven-point edge up 17-10 at the 7:40 mark of the second period but then the Backcourt Baddies team got things going again and with 3:55 left, the Cross Era team saw its lead cut to just one at 17-16. The Backcourt Baddies team would finally get out in front again at 18-17 a short time later with 3:25 left but then a quick 7-0 run by the Cross Era team had them up 24-18 with 1:15 left and they would hold a 25-20 lead at the halftime break. The topsy-turvy nature of this game would continue once the third period was underway as a quick 4-0 burst by the Backcourt Baddies team had them down by only one again at 25-24 by the 9:20 mark and a short time later at the 9:05 mark, the Backcourt Baddies team once again assumed the lead at 27-25. The Backcourt Baddies team would up the lead to 29-25 by the 8:05 mark and would expand it further to 33-25 near the midway point. With 2:55 left the Backcourt Baddies team got the lead to 38-25 and by the end of the third period, the Backcourt Baddies team now had a sizable 43-25 lead. The Free Agents would finally break out of its offensive slumber once the fourth period was underway but they weren't able to make up any ground as the Backcourt Baddies maintained the eighteen-point lead up 46-28 by the 6:05 mark and they would still be safely out in front 48-32 with 2:50 left as they got the solid win on this night.
Only three games on tap in the 8:15 PM slot on this night. Over on Court 1, the Free Agents team was doing double-duty on this night and faced off against the Granny's Got Game team and it didn't take long for the Granny's Got Game team to put some distance between itself and their opponent as they would hold a 5-0 lead by the 6:05 mark of the opening period and would hold a 16-8 advantage by the end of the first period. The Granny's Got Game team would hold an 18-11 lead by the 7:40 mark of the second period and would lead 23-14 near the midway point. The Granny's Got Game team would establish a double-digit lead up 31-15 with 2:55 left and would hold a 35-22 advantage by the halftime break. The Granny's Got Game team would be holding onto this same 35-22 lead by the 7:50 mark of the third period and would hold a 40-26 lead near the midway point. With 2:00 left, the Granny's Got Game team had a twenty-point lead at its disposal up 46-26 and they would hold a 49-26 lead by the end of the third period. By the 8:15 mark of the fourth period, the Granny's Got Game team was rolling up 51-26 and that lead would grow to 55-28 near the midway point as they sailed to an easy win......Another rout was going down over on Court 2 as the GAC White team was taking on the Anoka-Ramsey team. While the GAC White team held a slim 4-3 lead at the 9:05 mark of the opening period, they would gradually grow the lead to 16-7 with 3:30 left and by the end of the first period, the GAC White team was enjoying a 22-9 advantage. A quick 4-0 burst at the beginning of the second period by the GAC White team made it a 26-9 game by the 7:40 mark and they would hold a 28-15 lead near the midway point. The GAC White team would be up 36-20 with 2:25 left and then a push by the GAC White team down the stretch had them up 44-25 at the halftime break. A quick 5-0 push at the beginning of the third period by the GAC White team had them up 49-25 by the 8:45 mark and they would have a hefty 55-32 lead at the midway point. With 3:00 left the GAC White team now had a thirty-point cushion up 63-32 and that would grow to 73-37 by the end of the third period. By the midway point of the fourth period, it was clear how this one was going to go with the GAC White team up 81-44 as they romped to an easy win......A much tighter affair was ensuing down on Court 4 in this time slot between the Ball Busters team and the Wash-Ups team. The Ball Busters team would try and take control of things early on as they would hold a 6-2 lead by the 7:55 mark of the opening period and would hold a 16-4 lead with 2:25 left. By the end of the first period, the Ball Busters team had maintained the eight-point lead up 21-13. The Ball Busters team would still be holding onto this same 21-13 lead by the 7:10 mark of the second period but that lead would shrink to six at 23-17 with 4:15 left. The Ball Busters team would recover a bit as they would hold a 27-21 lead with 1:50 left but that lead would again shrink down to four at 30-26 by the halftime break. The Ball Busters team appeared to recover as they would get their lead to 35-28 by the 8:05 mark of the third period and would have a ten-point cushion up 40-30 near the midway point. But the Wash-Ups team would go to work again and get the deficit down to seven at 46-39 with 2:30 left and by the end of the third period, the Ball Busters team saw its lead dwindle to five at 51-46. Things would get more precarious for the Ball Busters team as the Wash-Ups team quickly pulled back to within a single possession down 51-49 by the 9:25 mark of the fourth period. Alarmed, the Ball Busters team got things going again and established some more breathing room up 59-51 by the 6:00 mark and would still hold a 61-54 lead with 3:40 left. The Wash-Ups team would make one last run and got the deficit down to four down 61-57 with 2:40 left but ran out of gas after that as the Ball Busters team held on for the hard-fought win.
