On Court 1 in the 6:15 PM slot on this Tuesday evening, the CSB team was ready to rock and roll as they were taking on the Leaky Roof (Augsburg) team.  The CSB team would draw first blood in this contest with a 2-0 lead at the 9:10 mark of the opening period and they would grow that lead to 13-6 after a short jumper with 3:18 left and before this first period was over, the CSB team would embark on an 8-2 push to up that lead to 21-8.  The CSB team would gradually expand this lead even more once the second period got underway and with 3:35 left, they were up comfortably at 31-13 and by the halftime break, the CSB team was rolling with a 42-15 advantage.  The Leaky Roof team would try to patch the numerous holes in their boat and by the midway point of the third period, they had cut the CSB team's lead down to 42-21 but those quick fixes were only temporary as the CSB team would balloon the lead to 58-21 by the end of the third period.  The Leaky Roof team would make one last attempt to shave the fat off of this deficit with a 6-0 push at the beginning of the fourth period that cut the CSB team's lead down to 58-27 by the midway point but it wouldn't be nearly enough as the CSB team had things in cruise control the rest of the way for an easy win........A somewhat tighter game ensued over on Court 2 between the Lions Black team and the Retired Athletes team.  The Lions Black team would own a 5-2 advantage by the 7:10 mark of the opening period and they would establish more breathing room with an 11-4 lead with 2:00 left in the first period and they would maintain this seven point lead at 14-7 by the end of the first period.  After the sluggish start by the Retired Athletes team in that first period, they got a big lift once the second period got underway thanks to three-point bomb by former Sioux Falls/Concordia St Paul/Park Center standout Danielle Schaub from the top of the key that cut the deficit down to four at 16-12 at they 7:45 mark.  Still, the Lions Black team would maintain a bit of a cushion with a 22-16 lead midway through the second period and they would be able to maintain this six-point cushion by the halftime break up 24-18.  The Retired Athletes team would make another foray to get things tight again as they closed to within a single possession down 27-24 at the 7:05 mark of the third period.  But the Lions Black team would then step on the accelerator to open up more breathing room once again and shutting the door for good as they would increase their lead to 33-27 with 4:08 left and by the end of the third period, they had a double-digit cushion at 42-29.  The Lions Black team would own a 46-34 advantage by the 6:50 mark of the third period and controlled things down the home stretch for the win........The game of the night from my coverage took place over on Court 3 between the UW-Stout team and the GAC Alumni team and it was a fun one to watch.  Trailing 7-4, the GAC Alumni team would knot this one at seven a piece on a three-point bomb by Anna Sanders (GAC '23) near the midway point of the first period and this one would remained tied at 10-all with 4:00 left.  The UW-Stout team would manage to grab the upper hand in this contest as they would hold a 13-10 lead with 1:05 left and they would have a bit more breathing room by the end of the first period with a 16-12 lead.  The UW-Stout team looked to be gaining control of this contest as they held an 18-12 lead at the 6:45 mark of the second period and they would hold a 20-13 lead midway through the second period.  The UW-Stout team would increase its lead to 28-20 with 1:35 left in the second period but the GAC Alumni team would get a big boost with late scores by both Sanders and Grace Benz (GAC '23) as they closed to within a single possession down 28-25 by the halftime break.  The UW-Stout team would get on another push once the third period got underway; upping their lead to 37-31 by the 7:05 mark but this cushion wouldn't last long as the GAC Alumni team was hot on their trail and closed to within a single possession again down just 39-37 with 1:50 left and the UW-Stout team would be clinging to this two-point edge up 41-39 by the end of the third period.  The GAC Alumni team would finally get this game leveled at 41 by the 8:30 mark of the fourth period and they would finally poke their nose out in front at 43-41 when Benz connected on a tough score in the paint at the 6:08 mark.  The GAC Alumni team would own a 45-42 advantage in this one with 3:30 left and after the UW-Stout team tied it up at 45, the GAC Alumni team would get ahead 48-45 thanks to another three point bomb by Sanders with 2:45 left.  But a resourceful UW-Stout team would soon get this game tied up at 48 a piece with 2:10 left and they would own a 50-48 lead with :25 left in regulation and hold on for an exciting and fun victory.

In the 7:15 PM slot, the UW-Stout team was doing double duty; this time taking on the defending champions from last year's Midtown YWCA Women's College Summer League, the Wash-Ups team over on Court 1.  But that didn't faze the UW-Stout team one iota and they would quickly open up space against a short-handed Wash-Ups team; getting a 2-0 advantage by the 8:42 mark of the first period and they would build that lead to 13-3 with 2:12 left and grow it even more to 18-5 by the end of the first period.  With 3:35 left in the second period, the UW-Stout team's lead had ballooned to 34-9 and by the halftime break, the UW-Stout team owned a 44-16 advantage.  The UW-Stout team's lead would only grow from there as they would own a 52-22 lead midway through the third period and that lead would bulge to 64-26 by the end of the third period.  The UW-Stout team would hold a whopping 78-29 lead near the midway point of the fourth period as they rolled to a blowout win.........A much tighter contest was ensuing over on Court 2 as the Lions Gold team was taking on the UNW Eagles team.  The Lions Gold team would hold a slim 7-5 advantage by the 7:00 mark of the first period and they would hold a 13-10 advantage with 1:25 left.  But a late spurt by the Lions Gold team would increase that lead to seven at 21-14 by the end of the first period.  A lay-up by graduate senior Syd Hauger would increase the lead to 23-14 early on in the second period and with 2:30 left, the Lions Gold team's lead would increase even more to 37-19.  By the halftime break, the Lions gold team had established a twenty-point cushion at 41-21.  The Lions Gold team would still hold a sizable 43-25 lead midway through the third period but the UNW Eagles team would shave some of the fat off of the deficit to get the Lions Gold team's lead down to 47-31 with 14:49 left in the third period and the Lions Gold team would at least maintain the sixteen-point lead at 49-33 by the end of the third period.  By the midway point of the fourth period, the Lions Gold team had re-established the twenty-point cushion at 60-40 and they would maintain this cushion up 66-46 with 3:20 left in regulation.  Despite a late push by the UNW Eagles team, the Lions Gold team would still pocket a comfortable victory........Not a lot of drama over on Court 3 in this time slot that saw the Luther team taking on the Court Crushers team.  The latter would get out of the gate quickly with the Court Crushers team up 8-2 at the 6:45 mark of the first period and they would open up a 24-7 lead with 1:50 left.  And the Court Crushers team would maintain this seventeen-point lead up 27-10 by the end of the first period.  The Court Crushers team would grow its lead to 35-14 midway through the second period and by the halftime break, the Court Crushers team was rolling with a 49-18 lead.  Things would only get worse for the Luther team once the third period got going with the Court Crushers team up 53-19 with 3:00 left and they would lead 59-22 by the end of the third period.  The Court Crushers team had things in cruise control once the fourth period got underway and they would hold a whopping 73-38 lead with 4:15 left enroute to an easy victory........A much better game was taking place over on Court 4 in this busy time slot as the Sara's Shooters team was taking on the KATZ team.  The Sara's Shooters team would hold a slim 8-7 advantage by the 7:10 mark of the opening period and they would be clinging to that one-point edge at 10-9 by the 6:05 mark.  A bit later at the midway point of the first period, the KATZ team would get its nose out in front as 12-10 but that wouldn't last long as the Sara's Shooters team would retake the lead at 16-15 with 3:05 left and they would hold a 23-21 advantage at the end of this back-and-forth first period.  The Sara's Shooters team would establish some breathing room by the 7:45 mark of the second period as they assumed a 32-26 lead but right back came the KATZ team as they leveled this contest at 37 with 3:10 left.  This game would be tied at 39 a piece with 1:50 left and after the Sara's Shooters team had taken a 42-39 lead a short time afterward, the KATZ team would again knot this contest at 42 thanks to a three-point bomb by senior-to-be Greta Schimnowski with 1:25 left.  Fittingly, this game would be tied at 47-all at the halftime break.  But the KATZ team was unable to sustain the earlier momentum and this allowed the Sara's Shooters team to take advantage of things once the third period got underway as they built a 61-53 lead midway through the third period  and they would maintain this eight-point cushion at 63-55 with 1;15 left.  Even though the KATZ team was able to trim the deficit to six at 64-58 by the end of the third period, the Sara's Shooters team would get on another run once the fourth period got underway; building a 71-62 advantage by the midway point of the fourth period and leading 76-65 with 1:50 left in regulation that cemented the win for them at the end.
